THE WOLF

THE WOLF
Deprived, alone, afraid to feel
Injured harsh by past love's bite
As starving wolf with needed meal
Upon him freed her appetite
In his presence she feels a confidence
A sanctuary for the beast
A source of emotional sustenance
Where often she plans to feast
Reluctance to indulge decreases
With every sweet meal she takes
Her hunger for him never ceases
And with passion's nails she rakes
But long hours of feasting have taken toll
And with both fears and hunger abated
After sharing her body, her heart and
her soul
The wolf sleeps in peace, satiated
