I HAD THAT DREAM AGAIN

I HAD THAT DREAM AGAIN

I HAD THAT DREAM AGAIN

We were walking in the park
Hours still until dark
The brisk autumn air smelling sweet
Everything was so fine
Your hand gently in mine
The sound of two little feet

He runs ahead to our right
Something captured his sight
He couldn't be more than two
Everything seems a toy
To this beautiful boy
The best of both me and you

He has long blond hair
His skin ever so fair
He has both your eyes and your smile
We stare with great pride
With such love inside
Entranced by him all the while

I look over at you
As I so often do
Your expression catching me unaware
What I see in your eyes
Hints of a surprise
As does the sweet smile you bear

I don't understand
Till I see your hand
Stroking your belly with care
My heart begins to beat wild
I realize you're with child
I feel I could float in the air

We tightly embrace
I gaze upon your face
I love you so much more than you know
We share the bliss
A passionate kiss
Then off with our son we go

The dream is so real
All I see, touch and feel
I so wish that it would come true
I'm willing and able
To eat at that table
But in the end it depends upon you

The Cremation of Sam McGee

The Cremation of Sam McGee

The Cremation of Sam McGee
BY ROBERT W. SERVICE

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows.
Why he left his home in the South to roam 'round the Pole, God only knows.
He was always cold, but the land of gold seemed to hold him like a spell;
Though he'd often say in his homely way that "he'd sooner live in hell."

On a Christmas Day we were mushing our way over the Dawson trail.
Talk of your cold! through the parka's fold it stabbed like a driven nail.
If our eyes we'd close, then the lashes froze till sometimes we couldn't see;
It wasn't much fun, but the only one to whimper was Sam McGee.

And that very night, as we lay packed tight in our robes beneath the snow,
And the dogs were fed, and the stars o'erhead were dancing heel and toe,
He turned to me, and "Cap," says he, "I'll cash in this trip, I guess;
And if I do, I'm asking that you won't refuse my last request."

Well, he seemed so low that I couldn't say no; then he says with a sort of moan:
"It's the cursèd cold, and it's got right hold till I'm chilled clean through to the bone.
Yet 'tain't being dead—it's my awful dread of the icy grave that pains;
So I want you to swear that, foul or fair, you'll cremate my last remains."

A pal's last need is a thing to heed, so I swore I would not fail;
And we started on at the streak of dawn; but God! he looked ghastly pale.
He crouched on the sleigh, and he raved all day of his home in Tennessee;
And before nightfall a corpse was all that was left of Sam McGee.

There wasn't a breath in that land of death, and I hurried, horror-driven,
With a corpse half hid that I couldn't get rid, because of a promise given;
It was lashed to the sleigh, and it seemed to say: "You may tax your brawn and brains,
But you promised true, and it's up to you to cremate those last remains."

Now a promise made is a debt unpaid, and the trail has its own stern code.
In the days to come, though my lips were dumb, in my heart how I cursed that load.
In the long, long night, by the lone firelight, while the huskies, round in a ring,
Howled out their woes to the homeless snows— O God! how I loathed the thing.

And every day that quiet clay seemed to heavy and heavier grow;
And on I went, though the dogs were spent and the grub was getting low;
The trail was bad, and I felt half mad, but I swore I would not give in;
And I'd often sing to the hateful thing, and it hearkened with a grin.

Till I came to the marge of Lake Lebarge, and a derelict there lay;
It was jammed in the ice, but I saw in a trice it was called the "Alice May."
And I looked at it, and I thought a bit, and I looked at my frozen chum;
Then "Here," said I, with a sudden cry, "is my cre-ma-tor-eum."

Some planks I tore from the cabin floor, and I lit the boiler fire;
Some coal I found that was lying around, and I heaped the fuel higher;
The flames just soared, and the furnace roared—such a blaze you seldom see;
And I burrowed a hole in the glowing coal, and I stuffed in Sam McGee.

Then I made a hike, for I didn't like to hear him sizzle so;
And the heavens scowled, and the huskies howled, and the wind began to blow.
It was icy cold, but the hot sweat rolled down my cheeks, and I don't know why;
And the greasy smoke in an inky cloak went streaking down the sky.

I do not know how long in the snow I wrestled with grisly fear;
But the stars came out and they danced about ere again I ventured near;
I was sick with dread, but I bravely said: "I'll just take a peep inside.
I guess he's cooked, and it's time I looked"; ... then the door I opened wide.

And there sat Sam, looking cool and calm, in the heart of the furnace roar;
And he wore a smile you could see a mile, and he said: "Please close that door.
It's fine in here, but I greatly fear you'll let in the cold and storm—
Since I left Plumtree, down in Tennessee, it's the first time I've been warm."

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.
MY ANGEL: I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

MY ANGEL: I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

MY ANGEL: I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

I once met this young senorita
She was as beautiful as could be
She said she needed a protector
She chose me
Oh sweet Lord she chose me

Soon we were spending time together
And soon I had fallen deep in love
Seemed to me that she was an angel
Sent from above
Oh sweet Lord from above

Then one day she said to me
Do you think that we could be
You and I together as one
I thought a future together
Had just begun
Oh sweet Lord just begun

Told her I protected another woman
Protected her from a favourite son
She misunderstood the situation
Said we were done
Oh sweet Lord we were done

I couldn’t give up on my angel
Waited for the truth to come to light
After we resolved some complications
We were all right
Oh sweet Lord we were all right

Then one day I spoke my mind
She began to treat me unkind
And when I seen what was in store
I thought we could be no more
Oh sweet Lord no more

But I couldn’t stop loving my angel
And soon we were together once again
Now we’ll be together forever
Till time ends
Oh sweet Lord till time ends

I JUST WANT TO BE WITH YOU

I JUST WANT TO BE WITH YOU

I JUST WANT TO BE WITH YOU

Ever since the day we parted
I felt I've lost the best of me
I've been so down and broken hearted
I wish that you and I could be

Life has been empty without you
Was you who gave my heart its beat
Doesn't matter what I say or do
Even winning seems like defeat

I just want to be with you and hold you tight
Feel the warmth of your body all through the night
Give my love to the woman I know is right
Baby, I want to be with you tonight

Even the grayest of days would be blue
If I could just be with you
Ev'ry dream I've ever had would come true
If I could just be with you

I wonder if you think of me
Missing my presence and my touch
Do you also wish that we could be
Surely you must have thought of such

We could recover from this mess
Forget the past and start anew
But it would require that you say yes
My heart believes that you want to

I just want to be with you and stroke your hair
Gaze into your angel eyes and know you care
A perfect union of two with love to spare
Baby, I want to be with you and share

Even the grayest of days would be blue
If I could just be with you
Ev'ry dream I've ever had would come true

YOU SHOULD BE HERE (IN MY ARMS TONIGHT)

YOU SHOULD BE HERE (IN MY ARMS TONIGHT)

YOU SHOULD BE HERE (IN MY ARMS TONIGHT)

I’m writing this song ‘cause I want you to know how I fe
el
And I want you to know that all my feelings for you are real
My love for you is so strong and so pure
My love for you will last forever and more
You should be here in my arms tonight
You should be here in my arms holding me tight
You should be here in my arms tonight
You should be here in my arms treating me right

Sometimes I don’t think you appreciate my feelings for you
And sometimes I think maybe you doubt my feelings are true
My love for you comes from well deep in my heart
My love for you keeps me going when we’re apart
You should be here in my arms tonight
You should be here in my arms holding me tight
You should be here in my arms tonight
You should be here in my arms treating me right

When you finally decide you want true love come see me
I’ve got plenty inside, it’s all for you and it’s free
My love for you will never die, oh no
My love for you will only grow and grow
You should be here in my arms tonight
You should be here in my arms holding me tight
You should be here in my arms tonight
You should be here in my arms treating me right
I love you
THE RAPE OF PETER O'BRIEN

THE RAPE OF PETER O'BRIEN

THE RAPE OF PETER O'BRIEN

Peter O'Brien of Ireland was a funny sort of lad
He was still a virgin and this it made him glad
No girl had ever touched him to take his cherry away
Until the day that he was raped down at Micken's Bay

He was working at the fish plant, his shirt he did take off
All his muscles were loved by girls, but all the guys did scoff
He made the girls so horny they couldn't take it anymore
So they held him down and, one by one, they made good Peter a whore

He had never before experienced the thrills that one could get
But then he did it all the time, he'd developed a taste for it
There was no position he didn't try, no woman he wouldn't do
The number of kids he fathered was one hundred thousand and two

More than ten got pregnant down at that plant first day
Micken's growth tripled first year his cherry went away
He's the father of our city and girls come from all around
Just for Peter to do them in the grass or on the ground

Peter never seemed to get enough, he always wanted more
He liked to do it and do it he did, but soon it did get sore
His strength began to fail and soon he did die
There wasn't a woman in the land who can say she did not cry

Peter he has been buried and on his headstone does read
Here lies the greatest lover, the rabbit of his breed
He's laid more women in his life than most men have ever seen
Except the only one he want, the busty, young Colleen
